Welcome to Aruba
WELCOME TO ARUBA
Aruba has long held a quiet allure for those who value both refinement and ease. Set just beyond the reach of the hurricane belt, the island offers a rare consistency of sunshine and gentle trade winds—an environment that feels as considered as it is naturally beautiful. Yet it is not simply the setting that defines Aruba, but the way it welcomes you into it.
Hospitality here is instinctive. It is found in the unhurried rhythm of each day, in the attentiveness that feels personal rather than prescribed, and in the sense that every detail has been thoughtfully anticipated. There is an authenticity to the experience—an ease that allows you to settle in quickly, while still feeling that sense of quiet escape.
The island’s landscape only deepens this appeal. Along the western shoreline, calm, luminous waters meet stretches of soft white sand, creating an atmosphere of effortless tranquility. Beyond, a more rugged terrain offers contrast and discovery, inviting exploration at your own pace.
What sets Aruba apart is its ability to deliver understated luxury without excess. It offers space to disconnect or engage, to be still or to explore, all within an environment that feels both elevated and entirely relaxed. For the discerning traveler, it is this balance— of warmth, beauty, and quiet sophistication—that leaves a lasting impression long after departure.

AWANISH JOSHI
EXECUTIVE CHEF
Q How would you describe your culinary philosophy, and how does it shape the dining experience at the property?
A My culinary philosophy is rooted in authenticity, using the correct cooking techniques and respecting the integrity of every ingredient and dish. I believe that consistency is achieved through continuous training, coaching, and developing the team to strive for excellence while taking pride in their craft.
As part of my culinary journey, I encourage chefs to become mentors, sharing their knowledge and inspiring others to grow. I also empower them to interact directly with guests, understand their preferences, and personalize their dining experience. By continuously refining their skills, expanding their knowledge, and delivering exceptional hospitality, we create memorable dining experiences that foster lasting guest relationships and loyalty.
Q What inspires your menus, and how do you approach creating dishes that feel both distinctive and memorable?
A I believe that creating exceptional dishes is a journey that combines creativity, authenticity, the availability of quality ingredients, and unique flavors to deliver memorable experiences for our guests. Every dish should tell a story reflecting the identity of the restaurant and the culture behind the cuisine.
I actively involve my creative chefs in every stage of menu development, encouraging brainstorming sessions where everyone can contribute ideas and challenge one another to achieve the best results. Together, we refine each dish, ensuring it has a clear inspiration and a meaningful story behind it.
Guest preferences are always at the heart of our menu planning. We carefully analyze guest feedback and dining trends, then use the freshest, seasonal, and sustainably sourced ingredients to create menus that are innovative, distinctive, and memorable. By combining culinary excellence with thoughtful collaboration and continuous refinement, we deliver exceptional dining experiences that keep guests returning.
Q How do you incorporate local or seasonal ingredients into your cooking?
A I always strive to maximize the use of locally grown ingredients in our menus to elevate the guest experience. We incorporate them into our locally inspired amenities to create storytelling “wow” moments, and we feature them in our special sauces and breakfast offerings. Ingredients like tamarind, locally farmed honey, spicy papaya sauce, aloe vera, and Mango are continuously used to enhance our guests’ experience.
Q Can you talk us through the dining experience you aim to create for guests, from flavor to presentation?A To create an exquisite dining experience for our guests, food presentation must be exceptionally refined and reflect the standards of a luxury hotel. Every dish should showcase authentic flavors while incorporating refined culinary techniques that elevate both taste and appearance. Equal attention should be given to the freshness, quality, and nutritional value of the ingredients to ensure a well-balanced dining experience. I believe that exceptional presentation is a defining feature of luxury hospitality, creating memorable experiences that captivate our guests and leave a lasting impression
Q Can you share a particularly memorable moment or service that stands out in your career here?A Over the years, I have had the opportunity to lead and manage one of the largest and most complex outdoor culinary events, catering to 6,000 guests over three days. The operation consisted of four meal periods daily across 25 dedicated dining venues running simultaneously, requiring meticulous planning, coordination, and flawless execution. This prestigious event hosted high-profile guests, including Heads of State, government delegates, and presidents, with exclusive five-course plated menus prepared to the highest international standards. This career experience significantly impacted my professional growth, allowing me to demonstrate leadership, operational planning, and execution skills under pressure. By motivating my team, fostering collaboration, and maintaining a commitment to excellence, we consistently delivered memorable dining experiences that exceeded our guests' expectations.
Q Are there any signature dishes or standout menu items that guests should not miss?A Currently our varied signature dishes that we would recommend are:
Lobster Ravioli, Pollo Alla Parmigiana, The Ritz Carlton Sushi Roll, Ultimate Japanese Wagyu Sushi Roll, Porterhouse, Jalapeno Mash, Sautéed Dover Sole, Fisherman’s Hut Sandwich, Aruban Keshi Yena Omelet.
Q How do you balance creativity with consistency across the dining offering?A Balancing creativity with consistency requires continuous focus and commitment from the culinary team. Chefs should be encouraged and motivated to showcase their refined culinary skills while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency. Regular training, tasting panels, and constructive feedback are essential to ensure that every dish meets our luxury standards. Attention to every detail—from preparation and presentation to the final quality check before serving—is crucial to delivering an exceptional dining experience and surpassing guest expectations.
Q How does your team work together behind the scenes to deliver such a high standard of cuisine?A Our culinary leadership is built on trust, collaboration, and mentorship. By creating an environment of continuous learning, innovation, and mutual respect, we empower our teams to refine their skills, grow professionally, and consistently exceed guest expectations. FROM REEF TO SHORE
From Reef to Shore: Coastal Adventures
COASTAL ADVENTURES
The coast of Aruba offers an open invitation to travelers who seek adventure and relaxation. From the turquoise waters and bands of white sand that unfold along the island’s western shores to the more rugged coastlines that meet the Caribbean trade winds on the east side, Aruba’s coastline is endlessly alluring. But the appeal of Aruba's coastline extends far beyond its beauty. The island's location outside the main Caribbean hurricane belt and along the sheltered leeward side of the Caribbean Sea helps keep its waters calm and inviting throughout much of the year. These favorable conditions create the perfect setting for swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and a wide range of other water sports.
EXPLORING ARUBA’S BEACHES AND COVES
For an island that spans an area just 20 miles long and 6 miles wide, Aruba’s beaches are remarkably varied. There are party places and family-friendly spots, and there are popular, bustling strips of sand as well as secluded, hidden gems.
Beaches around Aruba also vary geographically. The beaches that face south and west tend to feature calm, turquoise waters and powdery white sand, making them perfect for swimming. Many of the beaches that face north and east are quite different — wild, windy and rocky with rugged coastlines, dramatic scenery and strong waves better suited to surfing than swimming.
Topping the list of lively beaches that attract tourist crowds is Palm Beach, an energetic spot on the west side of the island convenient to multiple resorts and beach bars. Here, catamarans skim just offshore, jet skis trace quick arcs across the water and rental huts along the beach offer paddleboards and kayaks.
Farther south, Eagle Beach offers a broad stretch of sand with calm surf and fewer crowds, with clear shallows popular for paddling as well as swimming. Closer to the northern tip of the island, Boca Catalina Beach is a small cove known as one of Aruba’s best shore snorkeling locations thanks to its excellent visibility and abundant marine life.
Beach hopping in Aruba is always rewarding because transitions can be dramatic, even though distances between beaches are short. Baby Beach, near the southern tip of the island, has a shallow lagoon calm enough for families with small children. Boca Grandi Beach, just minutes away on the east side, has dramatic winds and surf that attract advanced kitesurfers.

DIVING BELOW THE WATER LINE
Venturing below the surface adds another dimension to exploring Aruba’s coasts. Aruba is especially well known for wreck diving, but the waters surrounding the island are also home to vibrant reef environments, many of them remarkably close to the shore. While some Caribbean islands reserve their best reefs for boat excursions, accessible snorkeling is woven into Aruba’s identity.
Outstanding shore snorkeling is available at multiple beaches. Visitors can walk directly into the water at Arashi Beach and Boca Catalina and discover reef systems close to shore. Sea turtles are commonly seen at these stunning spots. Tres Trapi is a much smaller beach, but it offers arguably the most reliable turtle sightings.
Mangel Halto on the south coast is another renowned snorkeling spot, offering reef access as well as a rich mangrove area that harbors diverse fish, crustaceans and bird species. Stairways lead directly into the water, making access easy. Beginners should stick to the area inside the bay, but advanced snorkelers who are confident in stronger currents can explore the area beyond the two cuts through the reef.
Scuba diving offers access to even greater depths. The wreck of the Antilla, a German cargo ship scuttled during World War II, is one of Aruba’s most famed dive sites. Coral has largely overtaken the wreck, making it part of the reef as well as part of the island’s history.
WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY...
One of the greatest advantages of visiting Aruba is the incredible variety of experiences available within a short distance. Visitors can explore rugged coastlines, hidden natural wonders, pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant local cuisine all in a single day. To truly experience the island, travelers should combine both land and sea adventures. Exploring Aruba's desert landscapes, natural bridges, caves, and historic landmarks provides a deeper understanding of the island's culture and natural beauty, while sailing along the coastline offers a completely different perspective of Aruba's turquoise waters and breathtaking sunsets.
RockaBeach Group specializes in creating unforgettable island experiences through four unique brands. Rockabeach Tours offers award-winning island adventures by Jeep, UTV, ATV, and bus. Tropical Sailing delivers premium sailing experiences along Aruba's stunning coastline. Bushiri Karting Speedway provides adrenaline-filled racing excitement, while Street Bites Restaurant & Sports Bar offers great food, drinks and entertainment. Together, we help visitors discover the very best of Aruba.

PADDLING THE ISLAND’S QUIET CORNERS
Some of Aruba’s most memorable coastal adventures unfold at a relaxed pace aboard a kayak, or stand-up paddleboard. From secluded beaches and coves to wild mangroves, the coast of Aruba has many areas that beckon to paddlers.
The sheltered waters of Spanish Lagoon top many lists of the island’s top kayaking destinations. A unique wetland ecosystem has emerged here in this long, narrow bay, where wading birds prowl the mangrove shorelines and fish dart beneath the surface. Glass-calm waters and protection from strong winds and currents make Spanish Lagoon a safe and easy place to paddle, and multiple operators offer guided kayak tours here.
Kayaking, including eco-tours and clear-bottomed kayak excursions, offers an opportunity to experience the calm serenity of Aruba’s coastlines, especially in areas that are less crowded and touristy. Stand-up paddleboarding, in contrast, offers a somewhat more active way to explore the coast. Paddleboard lessons and rentals are widely available on the island. While it does take a bit of practice to get the hang of stand-up paddleboarding, it’s a great way to discover the beaches and coves of Aruba, especially in the early mornings before tour boats and Jet Skis start to wake up. Some of the top paddleboard spots include Palm Beach, Mangel Halto and Malmok Beach.

DISCOVERING WELLNESS AT THE WATER’S EDGE
Aruba’s beach culture does not revolve solely around activity and adventure. The beaches here are also settings for restoration, relaxation and calm. Wellness activities on the beach could be as simple as a morning walk along the dunes and boardwalks, or a moment of quiet contemplation as the sun sets over the sea.
It’s common to see a handful of early risers walking along Eagle Beach at first light, before the crowds arrive and the heat settles in.
Beach yoga has also become quite common across the island, especially near the quieter resort areas. Sessions may be held directly on the sand in the early morning or near sunset, times when the breeze softens and the temperatures ease. Stand-up paddleboard yoga offers another alternative that blends restoration and movement.

COASTAL CALM AND ISLAND ADVENTURE
The appeal of Aruba’s coast lies in its diversity and its beauty. Thrilling escapes like snorkeling and paddleboarding exist in harmony with relaxed activities like shoreline walks and beach yoga in a place that rewards reflection as much as motion.

AN ISLAND OF UNIQUE HISTORY AND HERITAGE
The pleasant tropical climate, picturesque low hills, white-sand beaches and magnificent coastal ecosystems found in Aruba, an island in the southern Caribbean Sea approximately 15 miles north of Venezuela, draw visitors from all over the world. The island’s focus on environmental and wildlife protection, respect for local customs and a myriad of rewarding tourist experiences are what make a visit to this historical island one to remember.

NATURE’S SANCTUMS
Aruba’s expansive splendor reflects through its deep caverns and shallow caves, which hold historical rock drawings as a backdrop to the mysterious stalagmites and stalactites found within these limestone chambers. Adventure and history enthusiasts relish in witnessing the grandeur of Arawak Indian drawings decorating the walls of Fontein Cave or in observing the awe of piercing sunlight through gaps in the ceiling of the Quadirikiri Cave, which extends down about 100 feet, while countless bats nest nearby.
Both caves are located inside Arikok National Park, where guided tours take visitors traipsing over the park’s nearly 8,000 acres — about 20% of Aruba’s total land. Here, park rangers lead explorers through island views and formations shaped by lava, limestone and quartz diorite while imparting knowledge about the island’s flora and fauna.
Drive the Green Experience Discover Aruba with the perfect balance of adventure and comfort. Wherever your journey takes you, we deliver reliability, comfort, and a personalized experience. Our 4x4 Suzuki Jimny invites you to explore the island’s hidden gems with style, freedom, and confidence. For added convenience, we offer direct vehicle delivery to your location.
For a more refined and comfortable journey, our premium VIP transportation service features the spacious SUV Ford Expedition Active, ideal for families, groups, or seamless airport transfers.
I S LA N D TR E AS U R E S
Aruba’s history includes gold exploration as far back as the 1400s. Arikok National Park preserves the remains of this historical period at the Miralamar Gold Mine ruins, the former site of a thriving gold mining venture, amid a landscape of cactus and dried riverbeds. Visitors may also see other remnants of this era at the Bushiribana Gold Mill ruins, a former ore-processing facility that operated on ore mined from the nearby hills. The Balashi Gold Mill is a second such site located near Frenchman’s Pass.
Donkeys have lived in Aruba for around 500 years since the Spanish brought them to the island. The animals, initially used to transport water, became nearly extinct in the 1970s due to the spread of disease. After their numbers once again flourished, the introduction of motor vehicles decreased the need for the animals. Today, visitors can visit the donkeys and, for a small donation, even hug one at the Donkey Sanctuary Aruba. Early arrivals may even be able to feed and help care for the donkeys.
Visitors may climb to the top of the California Lighthouse on the island’s northwestern tip and revel in 360-degree views, including those of the majestic Sasarawichi Dunes, commonly known as the California Sand Dunes, a name given in honor of the offshore shipwrecked S.S. California. Explorers may only navigate the dunes on foot.
ARUBA HISTORY
The island’s first known inhabitants are said to be the Archaic people from the areas now known as Venezuela and Colombia. Another group, the Caquetios, arrived around A.D. 900. Spanish explorers arrived in the early 1500s, while the Dutch arrived in 1636. The British came later in the early 1800s. Those interested in learning more about Aruba’s history and its people through the ages can find over 3500 years of Aruba history, including replicas of early dwellings, covered at the National Archaeological Museum of Aruba, which also includes historical material from the Spanish and Dutch.
The island’s chapels include Alto Vista Chapel, a Catholic church built in 1750 on the north coast by a Venezuelan missionary, where visitors may also walk through a peace labyrinth on site, and the Lourdes Grotto, created in 1958 by a local priest and his parishioners on the southern part of Aruba, a Roman Catholic shrine built into a rocky hillside. Each year on February 11, participants honor the Lady of Lourdes with a procession from St. Theresita Church to the grotto’s statue of the Virgin Mary.
A visit to San Nicolas offers a lens into the local history and culture through artistic, colorful street murals created by artists from around the world, giving Aruba the reputation as the Caribbean’s street art capital. Visitors enjoy the “Sunrise City” vibe of San Nicolas by admiring these murals, a program started by Aruban Tito Bolivar, and the island’s daily sunrises from this eastern location. The San Nicolas Community Museum holds a collection of ancient fossils and recreated historical scenes. This museum has limited hours.

EVENTS AND CELEBRATIONS
The annual three-day Aruba Art Fair in San Nicolas, also established by Bolivar, presents art from over 150 exhibitors and artists from around the world at what was once the site of an oil refinery. Over time, with changes in the refinery’s business, the area lost its former vigor, but the local art has brought renewed energy.
Carnival season begins in January with weeks of vibrant celebrations influenced by African, European, and Caribbean traditions. Colorful floats, dazzling costumes, and lively music—including calypso, steel band, and soca—fill the streets, culminating in the spectacular Grand Parade, a day-long celebration of Aruba’s rich multicultural heritage.

ISLAND INDULGENCE
Island Indulgence: Culinary Delights and Comforts
Aruba’s beaches are rightly celebrated for their beauty. But there’s more than natural beauty to this stunning Caribbean island. And for travelers who seek more than a resort lounger and a frozen beverage, there is much to see and savor here.
Aruba’s dining scene encompasses fresh seafood and European influences, and local ingredients are celebrated with genuine pride. Cocktail culture has become increasingly sophisticated. And the Palm Beach corridor offers more than beaches; it’s a shopping, dining and entertainment hub that hums with an energy that is both Caribbean and cosmopolitan. Ultimately, Aruba has a different side for each type of traveler.

Seafood is one of the main pillars of Aruba’s culinary identity. The cuisine here is partly shaped by culinary tourism, but seafood isn’t on menus solely to please the palates of tourists. Grouper, snapper, wahoo and mahi-mahi are staples of casual beach lunches and meticulously plated tasting menus alike. Fishing charters depart the island’s marinas before sunrise, and by afternoon, the fresh catch of the day starts to land on restaurant grills.
Along the western coast, especially around Oranjestad and Palm Beach, menus tend to emphasize simply prepared fish with bright citrus marinades, plantains and local hot sauces. It’s not unusual for seafood restaurants to feature daily fresh catch — sometimes caught by the owner himself — prepared in an array of styles that might include grilled fish or “Aruban style” fish with a mild Creole sauce. Locally caught shrimp and Caribbean lobster are also menu staples. Flavors lean in the direction of bold-but-balanced, with layers of sweetness, acidity and savory depth rather than overwhelming spice. Aruba is a melting pot of influences, and the Dutch culinary tradition occasionally shines through in the food’s comforting richness.
MUST-TRY DISHES AND DRINKS IN ARUBA
While seafood is an essential cornerstone of Aruban cuisine, visitors should also make room for other traditional dishes that reveal the island’s deep culinary roots and diverse heritage. Diners will encounter dishes that echo Dutch and Spanish cuisine but also African and even Asian culinary traditions.
Keshi yena, a richly layered dish of spiced meat, olives, raisins and vegetables stuffed into gouda cheese and baked until gooey and flavorful, is one of Aruba’s signature dishes, and a telltale sign of its Dutch influence. Pastechi, a flaky stuffed pastry with savory filling, is popular island-wide and appears everywhere from breakfast buffets to roadside stands.
Pan Bati, Aruba’s version of cornbread, is soft and slightly sweet, making it the perfect accompaniment to dishes like slow-simmered stews — called stoba — which are traditionally made with beef, goat or conch that has been slow-cooked with potatoes, onions, garlic and hot peppers in a savory, tomato-based gravy.
Aruba’s beverage culture also offers much to explore. Balashi beer, brewed locally, remains eternally popular and is a staple of many afternoons by the beach. The island’s craft cocktail scene has also evolved to encompass inventive concoctions crafted by talented mixologists and enjoyed on breezy rooftop lounges and chic waterfront patios.
For those with a sweet tooth, Aruba’s signature cocktail is the Aruba Ariba. Served at virtually every watering hole across the island, it’s made with vodka, rum, Crème de Banana liqueur and a mix of fruit juices (usually orange, cranberry and pineapple). The final ingredient is Coecoei, an Aruban liqueur made from agave sap, rum and local spices.

WHERE ARUBA COMES ALIVE
Aruba has several coastal hubs, mostly arranged along the western coast of the island, that provide great amenities for visitors. Eagle Beach, a quiet, residential beach town, is known for its beautiful scenery and laid-back, low-rise ambiance. Oranjestad, Aruba’s capital and cultural center, offers rich culture and lovely Dutch colonial architecture.
But it is Palm Beach that almost inarguably enjoys a reputation as Aruba’s premier beachside destination. With a two-mile stretch of white sand lined with beach clubs, waterfront restaurants and cafés, Palm Beach is the island’s social and entertainment core.
But there’s more than natural beauty to this stunning Caribbean island.
It’s a premier destination for shopping and dining. Vibrant pockets like the Village entertainment district and Palm Beach Plaza that encompass high-end retail, casinos and cinemas, cocktail bars, bowling alleys and outdoor entertainment spaces.
During the day, Palm Beach is all about turquoise water, bustling open-air cafés and beachside excitement. At night, the ambiance shifts, and Palm Beach becomes Aruba’s nightlife capital. It’s lively but polished. Energetic, but not chaotic. As night falls, casinos spill light out onto the boulevard, rooftop lounges fill with well-dressed diners, and bars pulse with Caribbean rhythms and live DJ music.
AN ISLAND FOR EVERY TRAVELER
Aruba’s appeal lies partly in its adaptability. Travelers can shape their experience around exactly the type of escape they are seeking, and Aruba offers a distinct experience for all types of visitors.
Couples may lean into the island’s romantic side. Private sunset catamaran cruises offer an alluring way to experience Aruba’s picturesque coastlines with champagne toasts, snorkeling stops and uninterrupted views of the gold-tinted skies. Beachfront spas in places like Palm Beach and Eagle Beach also cater to couples, offering open-air treatments accompanied by the warm trade winds and soft sounds of the surf. And candlelit dinners on the sand remain one of Aruba’s signature experiences.
Solo travelers are often drawn to the island’s accessibility and ease. Aruba is compact and easy to navigate, with a wide variety of adventures and activities within easy reach of one another. Water sports operators in places like Palm Beach offer activities like snorkeling, parasailing and paddleboarding, while horseback riding excursions on the more rugged northern coast provide a dramatically different perspective.
Families, too, have much to enjoy in Aruba. Family itineraries often revolve around beach access and convenience, and Palm Beach’s calm waters are perfectly suited to beginner-friendly water activities. It also helps that Palm Beach is convenient to shopping centers and a variety of family-friendly entertainment.

PERMANENT VACATIONS
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MOVING TO YOUR NEW HOME
You are relaxing on the beach and sipping fresh juice. The air temperature feels just right, and the swaying of a nearby palm tree adds a calming ambiance to the day. You realize that today is the last day of your vacation.
Then, you have a thought — what if this slice of paradise was the place you called home? What if you were to actually move to your favorite vacation destination?

More and more people are having this same realization, particularly as the world shifts to a focus on remote work and as real estate continues to be a lucrative investment. If you have visited a destination and fallen in love with it and are considering moving there permanently, the following guide is for you. Learn everything you need to know about moving to paradise.
WHAT TO CONSIDER BEFORE MAKING YOUR MOVE
Travel is one of the best ways to learn more about the world and to find out what makes you happy. It is often during a trip to a faraway destination that you learn the most about yourself and what makes you tick.
It is for this reason that it is quite normal to realize during a vacation that you want to permanently move to a new location. Perhaps you grew up on the East Coast, and a trip to Colorado makes you realize that you are, in fact, a mountain enthusiast. Or, maybe, you have spent all of your life living in the US, but during a vacation to the banks of Lake Como in Italy, you find a deep connection to the culture and landscape of this faraway country.
In Aruba’s luxury real estate market, reputation, local knowledge, and trust play a vital role in every transaction. With the island continuing to attract international buyers and investors, demand for vacation homes and investment properties remains strong thanks to Aruba’s stable economy, thriving tourism industry, and exceptional quality of life. Buyers today are looking not only for beautiful properties, but also for guidance from professionals who understand the local market, investment potential, and long-term value of each opportunity.

Before you take the plunge and move to a new location, take time to reflect on your potential upcoming move. Ask yourself a few key questions:
What do I love about this place?
This can help you focus on what type of property you’ll want to purchase and can even open the doors of possibility to widen your search to similar locations. For example, if you love the calming waters of the Caribbean, you might consider looking at beachfront properties on multiple islands.
What would my life here look like?
If you are retired, then making a move to a new location might not change a lot about your everyday life. If you are still working, make sure to think through the logistics of your career. Will your work come with you? Or will you need to find a new job?
What are the specific benefits of relocating?
Creating a list of why you will benefit from making the move can help you express your plans clearly to family and friends and can help solidify why you want to take the leap. Outline everything about what your new home will provide that your current living situation does not.

WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY...
In a destination market like Aruba, real estate decisions are influenced by more than just the property itself. Location, tourism demand, and long-term development trends all play a key role in determining both value and lifestyle suitability. Buyers are encouraged to think beyond design and instead consider factors such as rental potential, infrastructure growth, and neighborhood stability when evaluating opportunities.
It is also important to define the purpose of a purchase early on. A vacation home, investment property, or longterm residence each comes with different financial and practical considerations, including maintenance expectations and occupancy patterns. Understanding these differences helps buyers make more confident and informed decisions in a competitive market.
At Prima Casa Real Estate Group, we provide local expertise and personalized guidance throughout every step of the process, ensuring clients find properties that align with both lifestyle and investment goals. We stand next to you.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR MOVE
Once you are ready to move forward with your plans to relocate, there are numerous logistics that will come into play. The specific steps you need to take will depend a lot on where you are moving from and where you are moving to, but the following tips are good guidelines to consider as a starting point.
- Make plans for your current home. Many who relocate to a vacation property will retain their existing home rather than selling it. If you plan to keep your current home, put together a plan for the property. You can either retain it as a secondary home, or you can use it as a source of rental income. If you plan to sell your current home, take some time to sit down with your real estate agent to find out the best strategy for selling, buying and moving based on your market conditions.
- Consider schools and timing for kids. If you have children, ideally, you’ll want to line up your move with the start of a new school year. Make sure to spend some time vetting the schools around your new home, considering both private and public options.
- Start paperwork well in advance. If your move takes you outside of your home country, you’ll want to ensure that you begin paperwork long before your move. Do ample research into what it takes to set up temporary or permanent residency.
- Work with your accountant. Depending on where you move, your taxable income might change, and you might need to file taxes differently. Make sure to inform your accountant of your plans and work with them to get everything in order prior to your move.

INVESTING IN A PROPERTY
Finally, the last step in your move is to invest in a new home. There are numerous options available when moving to a vacation destination. You can consider fractional ownership, sharing the costs of the property with others. However, keep in mind that with fractional ownership, you will need to retain a secondary home as you will be sharing access to the property as well.
Conversely, you might find that purchasing your own property is the ideal choice. This allows you to invest in the exact type of home you prefer and gives you the opportunity to make this your primary residence.
As you begin your search, make sure to take the time to create a list of must-haves and nice-to-haves. For example, if you are relocating to California because you enjoy spending time in the wine country, you will want to ensure that your must-haves list includes owning a property in one of the state’s numerous wine regions. This list will help ensure that your new home will meet your expectations and prevents you from relocating only to miss out on what drew you to the area in the first place.
Deciding to invest in a permanent vacation is one of the best ways to enjoy some of the most stunning locations the globe has to offer. So go ahead, relax and stay awhile.

Feeding the Soul in Aruba
Murmuring waves. Yielding sand underfoot. Bright-orange and black trupials welcoming sunrise with song. Flavors and aromas of coconut, seafood and Creole. Resonating steel drums. These sensory experiences, along with the island’s consistently sunny skies, warm temperatures and the people who reside here, inspire and embody Aruba’s moniker “One Happy Island.”
Aruba’s many beaches with their fine, white sand in the west and rocky settings in the north and east, present a chance to connect with the earth, the rhythm of the tides lulling in the background, gifting an occasion for deep reflection. On Eagle Beach, a solo traveler may find inspiration by meditating in the awe of the abundant, protected Fofoti trees, their twisted trunks molded by the winds, symbols of Aruban endurance and resilience.
Aruba’s waters fracture and reunite the sun’s reflection with each wave, forever moving and inspiring a sense of renewal in those witnessing its majesty, especially when practicing yoga poses with its tempo in the background. The gentle practice of yoga has been shown to help the brain develop new connections and strengthen thought, awareness and memory. WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY... There is no need for a mat when participating on the island’s comforting beaches. Sands move naturally underneath beach towels during oceanside yoga sessions, supporting the body as it moves into each pose, gently stretching muscles that may have reached a plateau from repeated floor yoga workouts.
After daily meditation at Eagle Beach—Aruba’s widest shore with its soft, white sand and shaded areas—come rituals of morning sun salutations and evening balasana, commonly referred to as child’s pose, which help rejuvenate the body and mind.
When the time calls to retreat indoors, those seeking extended calm, reflection and emotional balance may find it in a gentle hands-on session of Japanese Usui Reiki. Recipients lie or sit upright comfortably as a practitioner works to support the body’s natural pathways and help clear energy blockages. Reiki Aruba offers an assortment of treatments to help restore the mind and body’s harmony, including Andean Reiki, a technique with carved stones that Andean healers used to help strengthen the body’s energy field, or acupressure Reiki.

Couples may find the solace they crave in kayaking, paddleboarding or snorkeling. Adventurers may observe the magic and wonder of yellowtail snapper, parrot fish and barracuda while traversing the underwater metropolis at the secluded Mangel Halto beach, complete with a backdrop of mangroves and shaded picnic areas.
Aruba’s diverse mix of cultures, languages and religions stems from its rich history that has brought its population together, existing in harmony. For an elevated feeling of inner peace, spiritual seekers may revel in spending time touring the island’s sanctuaries of prayer, such as Saint Anne’s, a Catholic church built after the Alto Vista Chapel and the second one in Aruba, built in 1776 as a building of mud and thatched roof and which now houses biblical figures and scenes, or the Protestant church, Kerki, built in 1846.

Aruba also offers yoga enthusiasts an assortment of group experiences. Those who want to refine their balance skills may enjoy stand-up paddleboard (SUP) yoga, also known as yoga on the water. Participants, anchored to soft, inflatable boards, ride the ocean’s gentle undulations while practicing poses like Sukhasana with Anjali Mudra, or easy pose with prayer hands. This joining of the hands at the sternum with a space between the palms — a position often used before and after yoga classes — symbolizes an honoring of the moment and an opening of hearts, like a flower waiting to bloom, in essence allowing in the natural beauty of Aruba.
Yoga devotees may enjoy hot yoga at Happy Buddha Aruba with choices such as Meditative and Static Yoga (Deep Stretch) and Body Shaping (ABSolution). Qi Gong Aruba offers preventative healthcare activities to travelers, including Tai Chi, a practice aiming to support balance, arthritis relief, sleep disorders and other health issues.
While the sounds of the island—the water, the birds, the wind—all contribute to a feeling of relaxation, the therapeutic practice known as sound healing helps work through blocked emotions using sound vibrations of different decibels. The shared experiences in a group rhythmic or meditative setting encourage the release of oxytocin, which helps support social bonding by activating the body’s own rhythmic systems. This experience may reduce participants’ anxiety, enhance empathy and reduce stress. Sessions take place at Eagle Beach.
